Tamara Freeland
Owner, So Fetch VT

Hello! I am native Vermonter with over 13 years of experience in caring for dogs of all sizes and breeds. In 2012, I joined the dog rescue community and began fostering and volunteering with Potter's Angels Rescue. In 2014, I co-founded a local non-profit dog rescue called Passion 4 Paws and volunteered for another 6 years. I've fostered 80+ dogs in my home and adopted 3 along the way.

I have a degree in Criminal Justice, but prior to starting my dog camp business, I spent 15 years in sales and marketing as client opportunity manager for a sales training and consulting company employed by some of the biggest e-commerce companies in the world. â€‹In 2020, I transitioned into a part-time role as an independent contractor, working remotely and thinking about what the next step might be.

Lucky for me, I stumbled across the My Dog Camp program and graduated the course in 2020. I officially launched So Fetch VT (a reference from the movie Mean Girls) and went full-time in May of 2021. I've always said that if I could earn a living helping dogs, it would be a dream come true!

I've been around dogs my whole life and wouldn't have it any other way. My handling skills developed organically and intuitively. Over the years, I've attended several workshops on remote collar training, basic obedience, dog behavior and large field socials to ensure I'm up to speed on balanced training techniques so that I can offer the best care and guidance to each and every dog I work with.

As an outdoors enthusiast, I am passionate about hosting year-round off-leash adventures for our furry friends. My husband, Corey, and our personal pack of four love to travel and adventure together.
